Director Francis Lee brings us an intense romantic drama that is brought to perfection thanks to the performances of its stars, Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan. Set in 1840s England, Winslet plays Mary Anning, a fossil hunter who sells her finds to tourists to support her ailing mother.

When a wealthy hobbyist fossil hunter enters the scene, he asks Mary to babysit his recovering wife Charlotte (Saoirse Ronan) while he goes on an expedition. Then the two start spending time together and form a passionate relationship.

6. The Peanut Butter Falcon (2019)


Zack Gottsagen stars in this film as Zak, a 22-year-old boy with Down syndrome. After escaping from the assisted living facility, Zak plans to go to wrestling school.

Along the way, Zak meets Tyler (Shia LaBeouf), a recently fired fisherman. The two strike up a friendship and make a raft to row to the wrestling training centre. This endearing film is charming and full of surprises.

7. Warrior (2011)


Joel Edgerton and Tom Hardy star in the roles of Brendan and Tommy Riordan, two estranged brothers who meet (and face-off) in a mixed martial arts tournament. Brendan used to be a successful fighter, but today he is teaching physics at a school, as well as being married with two children.

For his part, Tommy is a former member of the US Marines. Tommy turns to his ageing alcoholic father for training. His goal is to enter "Sparta", the most important mixed martial arts event, with a prize of five million dollars.
